Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10, 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter exited the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals since February 2020. The largest was a $350,000 investment to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was second of a family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence, her mother, was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran claims her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran struggled with her education and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. After flunking several courses during her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she received a grade of D.
